In 2018 my image "Rescued" was selected as a finalist in the Politics of Food category.
I had photographed the hen a few years before along with several others that had been saved from the slaughterhouse, deemed to sick to process. Although looking slightly tatty she was a healthy, happy hen probably living her best life.
